I hired Reliant Electrical and Automation Inc. to rewire my home in Fresno (a craftsman-style 2 bed, 1.5 bath built in 1941). The original wiring was knob and tube, which I discovered wouldn’t be covered by insurance in the event of an electrical claim. We’d only lived in the house about three and a half years, so the idea of a full rewire was intimidating. After getting several quotes from independent electricians as well as some of the larger companies in town, we chose Reliant. It has been the best decision I’ve made as a homeowner so far. A house like ours presents all kinds of unexpected challenges when it comes to access and running new wiring. Reliant handled it with skill and care, and we now have fully permitted Romex throughout the house.

But what really stood out was that the project went far beyond “just” rewiring. We didn’t initially realize how many opportunities would open up in the process. Reliant helped us rethink and improve our lighting throughout the house: replacing dated 1970s track lighting with recessed and accent lighting, precisely placing new fixtures, and installing a much quieter whole-house fan. They also did complex electrical work to set up a fully functioning darkroom and thoughtfully anticipated the needs of a future kitchen remodel by running power for a garbage disposal and dishwasher.

Marshal, in particular, was exceptional. He consistently offered creative, thoughtful ideas that complemented our interests and aesthetic – never pushy, always responsive to things we mentioned (often things we didn’t even realize were possible). He’s a genuinely brilliant problem-solver with remarkably broad expertise, and he explains what he’s doing and why in a way that builds trust and understanding. It’s also clear he’s working to build a highly competent crew.

Rewiring an older home can be daunting, but Reliant made the entire process feel manageable (even exciting). I can’t recommend them highly enough.
