Great work! Marshal (Reliant Electrical & Automation Inc.) quickly figured out the reason that our main garage light socket was no longer turning the lightbulb on/off (wall switches for it were bad and needed to be replaced). Both the diagnosis and the repair were completed well within the minimum 2-hour time period that we were given for a repair job. The diagnosis was made within just a matter of minutes. Marshal and the apprentice were focused, did not create/leave any mess, and were clearly knowledgeable.

As part our regular process of having more than 1 company out when hiring people for a repair, it was immediately clear that the other company hadn’t done a thorough job at all to diagnose the issue. That other company talked briefly about a troubleshooting process that I imagine would have been more expensive and time-consuming, and would have been unnecessary. Also, the repair cost charged by Reliant was less than the minimum repair cost that would have been charged by the other company.

Hiring Reliant Electrical resulted in the problem getting fixed, and getting it fixed quickly. We are also pleased that Reliant was not trying to make the process dragged out to increase how much money they would make from the job.

I hired Reliant Electrical and Automation Inc. to rewire my home in Fresno (a craftsman-style 2 bed, 1.5 bath built in 1941). The original wiring was knob and tube, which I discovered wouldn’t be covered by insurance in the event of an electrical claim. We’d only lived in the house about three and a half years, so the idea of a full rewire was intimidating. After getting several quotes from independent electricians as well as some of the larger companies in town, we chose Reliant. It has been the best decision I’ve made as a homeowner so far. A house like ours presents all kinds of unexpected challenges when it comes to access and running new wiring. Reliant handled it with skill and care, and we now have fully permitted Romex throughout the house.

But what really stood out was that the project went far beyond “just” rewiring. We didn’t initially realize how many opportunities would open up in the process. Reliant helped us rethink and improve our lighting throughout the house: replacing dated 1970s track lighting with recessed and accent lighting, precisely placing new fixtures, and installing a much quieter whole-house fan. They also did complex electrical work to set up a fully functioning darkroom and thoughtfully anticipated the needs of a future kitchen remodel by running power for a garbage disposal and dishwasher.

Marshal, in particular, was exceptional. He consistently offered creative, thoughtful ideas that complemented our interests and aesthetic – never pushy, always responsive to things we mentioned (often things we didn’t even realize were possible). He’s a genuinely brilliant problem-solver with remarkably broad expertise, and he explains what he’s doing and why in a way that builds trust and understanding. It’s also clear he’s working to build a highly competent crew.

Rewiring an older home can be daunting, but Reliant made the entire process feel manageable (even exciting). I can’t recommend them highly enough.
